Courthouse Square achieved a LEED™ Bronze rating under the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design. Co-owned by Marion County and Salem Area Transit, the five-story complex covers a full block and includes government offices, retail space, a canopied public transit center, underground parking and space for future development.

Located on a brown field, Courthouse Square breathed new life into a blighted area. The project required demolition of seven buildings, prompting Marion County Environmental Services to adopt a rigorous salvage program that saved $180,000 in landfill fees.
